About the Artist
Anastasia Pollard likes to paint portraits on a small scale. Somehow it intensifies their impact. Her work is intimate and arresting in the details she emphasizes. In this portrait the sitter adopts the persona of Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz.
Anastasia studied at Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts and Florence Academy of Art. She is a member of The Royal Society of Portrait Painters and has shown at their annual exhibition since 2005. She was selected five times to exhibit in the BP Portrait Award.
